Juan Manuel “El Principito” Witt was 36-0-2 (25) when he challenged for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Super Welterweight title on June 11, 2022 against Brandon Berry.

The fight took place in Skowhegan, Maine, where Berry (23-6-2, 16 KOs) sells lots of tickets and is a sporting hero of his community.

Before venturing to the United States, Witt had boxed in Brazil and Mexico as a pro besides his native Argentina where he had won numerous regional titles since making his debut in 2008.

Against Berry he came up short, losing by sixth round stoppage when Berry landed a crushing body-shot from which Witt was floored and unable to continue, but prior to that he had made a good account of himself.

He returned with a victory over Diego “El Buitre” Ramirez the following September, and another one last April over Daniel Martinez, both fights at Welterweight.

At 38-1-2 (26) he was offered to return to the USA for a fight at Middleweight against Thomas LaManna (35-5-1), with the vacant WBA Fedelatin title at stake on July 22, but the jump of two weigh-classes was too much and he was stopped in three rounds.

Still with a nice-looking record, the 36-year-old from Campana, Buenos Aires will likely rebound on home soil and put himself in position for another significant fight.
