Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO)
championship boxing in 2021 concluded on
Monday night, December 27, when Arena Ring
Box Promotion and Gjocaj Boxing Promotion
staged a UBO title twin-bill at the Palestra
Karagac in Pec, Kosovo.

The
headlining fight of “Fight Night Kosovo” saw
Edmond Zefi face tough Italian Christian “La
Iena” Mazzon for the vacant UBO Youth World
Super Welterweight crown.
After eight
rounds of entertaining back-and-forth action,
Czech Republic-based Kosovan Zefi was declared
the winner by split decision.
Judges Adea
Berisha and Ferid Ukshini scored the fight 78-76
and 79-74 for Zefi, while judge Ajet Rreci had
it 77-76 in favour of Mazzon.

24-year-old
“King Edmond” improved his professional record to
9-1 (5). Mazzon (25) drops to 6-3 (3).

In another
home-coming bout, Labinot Xhoxhaj, based in
Switzerland, made quick work of Marko Mononen
from Finland, scoring a first round stoppage to
win the vacant UBO International Cruiserweight
title.
Making only
his second appearance in his birth-country as a
pro, Xhoxhaj was just too strong and punched too
hard for Mononen, who had gamely accepted the
fight on short notice.
With the
victory, Xhoxhaj (28) took his pro ledger to
16-0 (13) and proved why he is one of the
biggest boxing stars in Kosovo.

Mononen,
coming off three straight victories, falls to 7-2
(1).
