India´s Sandeep Kumar travelled to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania to win the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Super Flyweight title in impressive fashion on Tuesday July 20.

Kumar was scheduled to face former UBO world title-challenger Sunday Kiwale, but when the local man pulled out with only a few days to go the visitor was instead pitted against the less accomplished Chiddy Mbishi.

Topping a bill at the Vijana Social Hall, Kumar didn't let the change face him, came out all guns blazing and knocked down Mbishi early in the first round.

Mbishi beat the count, but, clearly stunned, was saved soon after by referee Anthony Ruta when Kumar ruthlessly went for the finish. Time of stoppage 1:31.

A pro since 2019 and fighting outside of India for the first time, 27-year-old Kumar improved his professional record to 8-1 (5). Mbishi drops to 9-8-2 (3).

The fight was promoted by Chata Michael and his Ager Sports & Arts Promotion.
