UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

The headline is admittedly too easy, but never the less accurate! Zulfa Macho Yusufu is the new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Female World Super Flyweight Champion after a wonderful performance on Sunday night, April 11, at Ubungo Plaza in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

In a rematch of what was both boxers pro debut more than seven years ago, won by Macho Yusufu by majority decision, she again out-scored local rival Halima Vunjabei.

This time, with much higher stakes, it was more conclusive and unanimous.

The high-paced fight saw Macho Yusufu, who after their first encounter didn't fight again until making a comeback last summer, simply have another level.

She was able to slug it out successfully with Vunjabei, and befuddle her with quick combinations from the outside when she chose.

Switch-hitting, jabbing and countering with accuracy, Macho Yusufu was a notch above the otherwise game and determined Vunjabei, so after ten heated rounds it was just a matter of how wide the scores would be in her favor.

Judge Jakwe Mtulya and Liu Shaojie both scored the fight 97-93, while judge Pembe Ndava had it one round closer at 96-94.

At only twenty-five, the sky appears to be the limit for “Zulu The Conqueror”, who improved her professional record to 5-0 (0).

Vunjabei (26), a former WBF world title-challenger at Light Flyweight, drops to 9-6-1 (5) but has plenty of time to come again.

Queen of the Ring”, promoted by PeakTime Media, was televised live on ITV Tanzania and Global TV Online.
