Argentinean Gonzalo Omar Basile captured the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Heavyweight title on Saturday February 27 at the Academia Coliseo Boxe in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

El Paton”, who is also the reigning South American Champion, stopped local man Gilberto Matheus Domingos in the very first round to add another belt to an already extensive collection.

Basile came out composed, while Domingos unfortunately looked out of shape and tried to land some wild shots in the hope of getting lucky. Instead he was floored twice by left hooks, and was not able to get up from the second knock-down.

This was a rematch, as Basile holds a victory over Domingos from 2019 in Argentina, and he made sure it was repeat and not revenge despite going into his opponents back-yard.

The victory brings the new UBO champions record to 76-14 (37), while Domingos, a former Brazilian national champion, drops to 22-13 (20).

The fight was promoted by Gustavo Garrote in association with Pernilongo Promotions.
