In the main event of a massive eighteen-bout card at the Ballers House RDC in Kinshasa, D. R. Congo on Friday October 30, Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) All-Africa Lightweight Champion Bilindo Eseko successfully defended his title for the first time.

The event celebrating the forty-sixth anniversary of the Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman “Rumble in the Jungle”, which took place in the same city on this date in 1974, Eseko fended off the challenge of previously unbeaten danger-man Forele Malonga Dzalamou from neighboring Congo-Brazzaville.

Dzalamou was expected to give Eseko a tough fight, and he did just that as he gave almost as good as he got for the entire ten rounds. But in the end, the three judges at ringside felt that the defending champion had done enough to deserve the victory.

Judges Josue Matete, Serge Nzau and Felix Mputu all saw it in favor of Eseko by scores of 98-96, 95-93 and 98-95.

Almost exactly one year after winning the title last November 2, Eseko took his professional ledger to 12-2 (3), while Dzalamou falls to 5-1 (5).

The show was promoted by Mukadi Manda, and televised live by RTNC TV.
