Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Light Heavyweight Champion Matheus Da Silva (5-0, 3 KOs) is one of the most promising prospects in Brazilian boxing, and still only twenty years old.

Born and raised, and still residing, in Mogi Mirim in the eastern part of Sao Paolo state, he had just turned nineteen when he made his professional debut on October 6, 2018.

At the Clube Mogiano in his hometown, he wasted no time as he stopped fellow first-timer Alisson Henrique Oliveira de Castro in just over a minute of the first round.

Da Silva finished 2010 with another first-round destruction, over Matheus Mikael Carlos, a month later, and then out-pointed Guilherme Cezar Miranda the following March.

In September of 2019 he stopped Rafael de Conceicao Silva in three, tuning up for what has been his biggest fight so far.

On the same card, staged at the Quadra Escola de Samba Gavioes da Fiel in Sao Paolo, his next foe, Bruno Cesar De Paula also record a victory.

So on October 19, 2019 in Mogi Mirim, Da Silva and De Paula squared off for the vacant UBO International Light Heavyweight title, and the vacant Brazilian national title.

It was a good fight, but Da Silva won a relatively clear unanimous decision (98-92 on all cards), and was being lined up to fight for the UBO Youth World title in the first half of 2020.

We all know how the Corona virus has halted most plans, but hopefully Da Silva will be able to continue the progression of his career soon.
