Nepalese boxing hero, and Chairman of the Nepal Professional Boxing Commission, Mr. Manohar Basnet has joined to become an official Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) representative in Asia.

A fourteen-time Nepalese national amateur champion, and one of the main people behind getting professional boxing started in Nepal in 2017, Mr. Basnet is a true boxing-man and pioneer.

We are very pleased to have Mr. Basnet on board, and we hope that together we can make a difference in developing professional boxing in Nepal and other Asian countries where the sport has yet to make a big break-through", said UBO Vice President David Maizner.

Basnet made his own professional boxing debut on the first ever pro card staged in Nepal in 2017, and also has experience from Super Boxing League, a professional league in India co-founded by former world champion Amir Khan.

Manohar Basnet: “I am proud and honored to be appointed an official representative of the UBO, and I look forward to the challenge of making UBO sanctioned championship fights possible in Nepal and other Asian countries.”

Founded in 2004, the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) takes great pride in working with commissions and qualified officials in various underdeveloped boxing markets to develop the sport, and have done so with success on several occasions, including in Yemen, Pakistan and Congo.
