With a rich boxing-legacy that includes all-time greats such as Carlos Monzon, Nicolino Locche, Victor Galindez and Sergio Martinez, to name a few, young boxers from Argentina have major shoes to fill if they aspire to be mentioned among their country´s best.

Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Welterweight Champion Guido Emmanuel Schramm (6-0-1, 5 KOs) is, at twenty-four years of age, one of the most promising Argentinian prospects currently on the scene, and he certainly dreams of achieving what those heroes did.

After a successful amateur career, where he won numerous national and regional championships, Schramm made his entry to the professional game with a fourth round knockout of compatriot Sergio Damian Ponce in April of 2019.

He added victories in June and July, before a draw with fellow prospect Dario Domingo Soto (1-0) in August was a small setback on his rise. He ended the year with two first-round blow-outs, lining up his first title fight for February 2020.

All his pro bouts had been in Argentina at that point, so it was another kind challenge when he agreed to face experienced former Brazilian champion Cid Edson Bispo Ribeiro (17-10, 13 KOs), not only in Brazil but also in his home-town Sao Paolo, for the vacant UBO International title on February 15.

But Schramm appeared undaunted when he entered the ring that night, and impressively saw off Ribeiro inside two minutes of the first round with a vicious combination of body-shots.

It doesn't take an expert to see that “G.E.S.” is capable of over-coming even bigger challenges, and perhaps even join the aforementioned superstars as another Argentinian world champion at some point in the not too distant future.
