Three new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Champions were belted on Saturday night (February 15), on a card promoted by Batalha Boxe in cooperation with Mike Miranda Jr. at the Faculdade Uni Santanna in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

In the main event, Fernando Luis “Cruel” Pinto prevailed in a highly anticipated local rivalry against Felipe Moledas, winning the vacant UBO Inter-Continental Welterweight title by majority decision.

Judges Norberto Polimeno and Antonio Bernardo Soares scored the very competitive bout 96-94 and 96-93 respectively for Pinto, while Judge Oswaldo Zuanella had it all even at 95-95. Also on the line was the WBC South America, American Boxing Federation Continental Americas and Brazilian national titles.

into, who won the UBO International title at Super Welterweight in his previous outing and was originally slated to clash with Moledas last October, improved his record to 8-1-1 (7). Moledas, a former WBA regional titlist, loses for the first time and drops to 10-1 (7).

Fernando Rodrigo Simoes De Almeida scored the biggest win of his career, stopping reigning South American Champion Gonzalo Omar Basile from Argentina in the first round to lift the vacant UBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight title.

Both men went for broke from the opening bell, and Simoes De Almeida landed most and hardest in wild brawl, eventually sending Basile crashing face first with a right hand. The fight was immediately waved off at 1:08.

Simoes De Almeida improved his record to 9-3 (9), winning his first professional championship in the process. Having won his previous seven outings, the very experienced and accomplished “El Paton” Basile is now 75-13 (36).

In the third UBO title fight of the evening, Argentinian prospect Guido Emmanuel Schramm remained undefeated and took home the vacant UBO International Welterweight title, stopping former Brazilian champion Cid Edson Bispo Ribeiro at 1:55 of the first round.

Looking classy all the way, Schramm ended matters with a combination of body shots. Still only twenty-four years old and a pro for less than a year, he is now 6-0-1 (5). Bispo Ribeiro falls to 17-11 (13).

The show was streamed live and free across the globe by Batalha MMA TV on Youtube.
