In a rare clash of prospects, former amateur star Christian Demaj and fellow unbeaten Robert Grguric will square off for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Cruiserweight title on Saturday February 29 in Kehl, Germany.

Demaj (2-0, 1 KO) is of Albanian decent, while Grguric (3-0, 2 KOs) has roots in Croatia, but both are based in Germany. With both having a sizable following, the atmosphere is expected to be loud and lively at the Mehrzwekhalle.

The fight headlines a show with five professional fights, promoted by Krasniqi Event in conjunction with Andreas Weiss, arranged to commemorate the one-hundred year anniversary of local football club SV Kork.

Nicknamed “Demolition”, 28-year-old Christian Demaj from Lahr, a short drive from Kehl, is on a fast-track after turning professional only last December.

The eleven-time Albanian amateur champion participated in European and World championships, and fought for the Mexico Guerreros in the semi-professional World Series of Boxing.

So, while Demaj has one less pro bout and is a year younger than Grguric (29), he is the more experienced and accomplished guy. The man fighting out of Leverkusen is no slouch, but Demaj must take the role of favorite.
