Argentinian veteran, and reigning South American Heavyweight Champion, Gonzalo Omar Basile (75-12, 36 KOs) will travel to Brazil for his next big fight.

On February 15 in Sao Paolo, he will square off with Brazilian puncher Fernando de Almeida (8-3, 8 KOs) for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental title.

"El Paton" won his first professional championship in 2006, the WBC Mundo Hispano, and has since added several more to his resume, including WBC, WBO and IBF Latino titles.

On a seven-fight winning-streak, Basile captured the South American crown in his third attempt last April, stopping Bolivian Julio Enrique Cuellar Cabrera in the third round.

He retained the South American title in December with a second round stoppage of Brazil´s Gilberto Matheus Domingos, and de Almeida would love nothing more than to revenge his fellow countryman.

For the visiting boxer, it will be nothing new going abroad to fight. This will be the eleventh time that Basile competes outside Argentina as a pro, having won several of his previous bouts on away soil.

Basile vs. de Almeida for the UBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight title will headline a show promoted by Mike Miranda Jr.
