On February 15
in Sao Paolo, he will square off with Brazilian
puncher Fernando de Almeida (8-3, 8 KOs) for the
vacant
Universal
Boxing Organization™
(UBO)
Inter-Continental title.
"El
Paton" won his first professional championship
in 2006, the WBC Mundo Hispano, and has since
added several more to his resume, including WBC,
WBO and IBF Latino titles.
On a
seven-fight winning-streak, Basile captured the
South American crown in his third attempt last
April, stopping Bolivian Julio Enrique Cuellar
Cabrera in the third round.
He
retained the South American title in December
with a second round stoppage of Brazil´s
Gilberto Matheus Domingos, and de Almeida would
love nothing more than to revenge his fellow
countryman.
