R.I.P. UBO Champion Matamba Debatch Postolo

It is with great sadness the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) has learned that its former multiple champion Matamba Debatch Postolo (19-1, 12 KOs) suddenly passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 4.

 
 

Only 43 years old, Postolo died in his home-town of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Postolo won the UBO International Cruiserweight title in 2010. Later that same year he also won the UBO All-Africa Heavyweight title, which he defended in 2011.

Later in 2011 he captured the UBO Inter-Continental Cruiserweight title, and in 2013 he added the UBO All-Africa Cruiserweight title to his collection.

In March of 2014 Postolo won the UBO World Light Heavyweight title, beating Tanzanian Mada Maugo in front of his home-town fans, and put himself in the history books as having won more UBO titles than any other boxer.

The UBO sends its condolences to the family and friends of Matamba Debatch Postolo. May he rest in Peace!
