Sherif Morina Beats Benson Nyilawila For UBO Title

In a rare clash of undefeated up-and-comers, Sherif Morina from Germany defeated Tanzanian Benson Nyilawila for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Welterweight title on Saturday (November 24) in Velbert, Germany.


With a sold-out crowd at the EMKA Sportzentrum cheering him on, Morina came out on top in a tactical but well-boxed and entertaining bout where both men proved to be in excellent condition and showed wonderful skill-sets.

After ten rounds of boxing, the three judges all scored the fight in favor of Morina with 97-93, 97-93 and 96-94 tallies.

Being a former World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Champion, Morina captured his second professional title in only his ninth outing and remained undefeated at 8-0-1 (4). Nyilawila suffered his first defeat, dropping to 10-1 (6).

The fight headlined a show promoted by former UBO World Heavyweight Champion Werner Kreiskott and his Fight Clup Wuppertal.
