Nasirite Beats Ngedere To Become UBO Champion

Rukia Nasirite from Kenya won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Female International Lightweight title on Saturday (November 10) at the Cradle Hotel in Lodwar, the city of her birth.


Nasirite beat Tanzanian Asha Ngedere by wide unanimous decision, but the fight was entertaining and high-paced from start to finish.

Judges Charles Juma, Alex Mwaniki and Sasha Oduk scored the ten-rounder 100-89, 98-91 and 97-92 respectively.

The new UBO Champion, who is also the East & Central Africa titlist and is hoping to return to Lodwar for a UBO title-defense in the not too distant future, improved her professional record to 8-9-6 (0). Ngedere goes to 4-8-3 (2).

The fight was promoted by David Impala in cooperation with the local county government.
