Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Champion Cedric Bellais is set to fight for the vacant UBO World Light Heavyweight title on July 27 at the Salle Fautaua in Mateia, Tahiti.

Bellais (20-8-3, 9 KOs) won the UBO Inter-Continental title in the same city on March 23, beating Bulgarian Konstantin Semerdjiev by fourth round knockout, and he is now ready to go for higher honors.

His opponent will be experienced Georgian Zura Mekereshvili (24-17, 20 KOs), a hard-punching 24-year-old with ambitions to spoil the party for the local hero.

Bellais, a former sparring-partner for unified world Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, has had hopes of bringing world championship boxing to Tahiti for a long time, and now the dream is becoming reality.

The fight will be the main event of a show promoted by Bellais.
