Frenchman Cedric Bellais won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight title on Friday (March 23) at the Stadium Willy Bambridge in Papeete, Tahiti.

On a self-promoted show, and in front of a fanatical crowd cheering him on, 29-year-old Bellais beat Bulgarian Konstantin Semerdjiev by fourth round knockout.

Looking strong and sharp from the first bell, Bellais controlled the action and kept Semerdjiev at bay while landing his own combinations almost at will.

After three rounds the visitor was still game, but in the fourth it was all brought to an end when Bellais landed the finishing punches, delighting his many fans at ringside.

With the victory, Bellais, a southpaw born in and currently residing in Papeete, improved his professional record to 20-8-3 (9). Semerdjiev is now 34-18-2 (21).
