Pialari Shines, Out-Boxes Shiva For UBO International Title

Tanzanian contender, and Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) All-Africa Champion, Idd Pialari won the vacant UBO International Welterweight title on Saturday (December 16) at the Travel Lodge in his hometown Bagamoyo.


Pialari (24) defeated Indian co-challenger Sviva by clear unanimous decision, in the main event of a show promoted by Sharifu Mushin.

22-year-old Shiva performed gamely and courageously, but Pialari was too sharp and skilled, winning by scores of 99-91 (Judge Agapeter Mnazareth), 98-92 (Judge Laszlo Fejes) and 97-93 (Judge Robert Kasiga).

The new UBO International Welterweight Champion is now 24-3-1 (17), with World Boxing Federation (WBF) All-Africa, Tanzanian national and East & Central Africa championships also on his resume, besides the UBO All-Africa title.

Shiva, which is actually his full name as stated in his passport, drops to 11-2 (4).
