23-year-old Szabo, who won the title last
February at the same venue, was awarded a fifth
round technical knockout victory when challenger
Oszkar Fiko, a Romanian based in Budapest,
injured his shoulder and had to bow out.
With the
victory Szabo improved his record to 18-8 (8),
while former UBO Youth Super Featherweight
Champion Fiko (24) drops to 29-23-1 (15).
In the
evenings co-feature Gyula Dodu (20) captured the
vacant UBO International Flyweight title when he
stopped former World Boxing Federation (WBF)
International and Hungarian national Champion
Robert Kanalas.
