Oezlem Sahin Fends Off Sandy Coget To Retain UBO World Title

In one of the main fights on an open-air show billed as Essen Fight Night, Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Female World Minnimumweight Champion Oezlem Sahin successfully defended her title on Saturday night (August 5) in Essen, Germany.


Sahin fended off the challenge of French Champion Sandy Coget, boxing well on her way to a unanimous decision.

Coget fought bravely and with ambition, but Sahin appeared to have the upper hand in most of the rounds.

In round three she even scored a knock-down, and after ten spirited rounds, the judges handed in scores of 98-91 (Piotr Wolke), 96-93 (Roman Morawiec) and 95-94 (Brahim Ait Aadi). Referee was Thomas Hackenberg.

BoxLady” Sahin, who also put her World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental title on the line, is now 23-1-1 (7) since turning professional in 2007. Coget, a pro since 2012, travels back to Courrieres at a misleading 8-7-1 (0).

The fight was promoted by Team Sahin in cooperation with Bjoern Sothmann.
