UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

On Saturday, July 8, in the city of Kolwezi in D.R. Congo, local stars Rocky Kaleng and Jacques Tshikubu Muvud made their country proud as they won Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) championships in impressive fashion.

UBO All-Africa Heavyweight Champion Rocky Kaleng won the vacant UBO International title by outboxing Georges Akuvi from Niger over ten rounds. While Kaleng clearly won most of the rounds, it was an entertaining fight for the fans.

Scoring Referee Ammar Akraoui had it 98-92, as did Judge Badjona Savios, while Judge Nzau Zama scored the fight 97-93, all in favor of Rocky Kaleng, who improved his professional record to 9-2 (4). Georges Akuvi falls to 8-3 (4).

In the evenings Co-Feature, home-town hero Jacques Tshikubu Muvud, the reigning D.R.C. national champion, picked up the vacant UBO Central Africa Super Welterweight tile with a convincing third round stoppage of Mamadou Kulibali, also from Niger.

24-year-old Muvud was dominant from the first bell, and simply too sharp and strong for the visitor. It quickly became a matter of time, and the end finally came when Referee Nzau Zama waved it off at 2:02 of the third stanza.

With the victory Muvud remained undefeated at 5-0 (3), while Kulibali drops to 7-4 (2).

The card was promoted by Manda Mudadi.
