Tanzanian Idd Pialari is still the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) All-Africa Welterweight Champion after successfully defending his title against Felix Mwamaso from Malawi on Saturday (May 20).

In his hometown of Bagamoyo, Paialri fought on the front-foot from the start, and beat Mwamoso to the punch in winning three of the first four rounds convincingly.

In round five the Malawian quit, claiming an injured leg.

At the time of the stoppage Pialari, who improved his record to 19-3-1 (14), was ahead on all cards: 39-37, 39-37 and 40-36.

He won the title last November, stopping fellow countryman Pius Kazaula in five rounds.

Mwamaso, now 12-10-2 (2), was not eligible to win the title as he failed to make weight at the day-before weigh-in.

The fight was promoted by Sharifu Boxing Promotions at Tasuba Hall.
