Reigning Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) All-Africa Welterweight Champion Idd Pialari is set for his first title-defense on May 20 at the Tasuba Hall in his hometown of Bagamoya, Tanzania.

The 23-year-old puncher, who is also the World Boxing Federation (WBF) All-Africa Champion and has an impressive record of 18-3-1 (13), will take on Felix Mwamaso from Malawi in what appears to be a stern challenge.

Mwamaso, two years older at twenty-five, has a spotted record of 12-9-2 (2), but has fought almost exclusively good opponents and is far better than his mediocre statistics suggest.

Pialari won the UBO title last November when he stopped fellow countryman Pius Kazaula in five rounds, and added the WBF title a month later by decisioning another compatriot in unbeaten Twaha Kiduku. The WBF title will not be on the line against Mwamaso.

The fight is the headliner of a show promoted by Sharifu Boxing Promotions, with plenty of interesting local match-ups filling out the undercard.
