While the
headlining fight of “The Roar Of Singapore”,
Ryan Ford vs. Sam Rapira for the UBO World Light
Heavyweight title, was announced a few weeks
ago, promoter Scott Patrick O’Farrell now has
opponents in place for UBO Asia-Pacific
title-challengers Rafi Majid and Benjamin
Kelleher.
In a fight for
the vacant UBO Asia-Pacific Super Middleweight
title, local Singapore-favorite Rafi Majid (3-0,
3 KOs) has been paired with tough former
Indonesian champion Jonathan Simamora, who
brings a record of 32-30 (11) and is bound to be
the biggest challenge so far for Majid.
While this will
be the first championship fight for Majid,
Simamora has been part of ten title bouts so far
since making his professional debut in 2002, and
it goes without saying that the 32-year-old from
Jakarta has faced far superior opposition.

Also, challenging
for the vacant UBO Asia-Pacific Cruiserweight
title, Australia-based New Zealand prospect
Benjamin Kelleher (2-0-1, 1 KO) will be tested
as well
when he squares
off with another Indonesian in Santria Antasena
(10-8, 4 KOs).
“At
this point of their careers, Majid and Kelleher
will definitely need to be on top of their games
to win the titles on February 17”, said
O’Farrell. “We
have no interest in making anything but
competitive and exciting fights, and Majid vs.
Simamora and Kelleher vs. Antasena will be just
that. Very Exciting!”
In the fourth
UBO title fight of this massive card, Malaysian
hope “Miracle” Mirage Khan
(7-1, 3 KOs),
the reigning
UBO Asia-Pacific Light Heavyweight champion,
will take on an opponent to be confirmed for the
vacant UBO Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight
title.
Promoted by
Scott Patrick O’Farrell of Ringstar Management,
“The Roar Of Singapore” benefits from the
support of 11 Sports Network, Trident Partners
Asia, RightHook Communications, Phuket Top Team,
Alex Gym, SFC, Spartans Boxing Club, The Penny
Black, Smokeys Ribs and Decathlon.
