Also on
the card, current UBO Asia-Pacific Light
Heavyweight ruler “Miracle” Mirage Khan (7-1, 3
KOs) will attempt to further progress his
career, when he takes on an opponent to be
announced for the vacant UBO Inter-Continental
title.
The
26-year-old from Malaysia captured the
Asia-Pacific title on November 12, also in
Singapore, when he destroyed otherwise tough
Indonesian Elly Pangaribuan in the first round,
and he hopes that another good victory on
February 17 can bring him close to a shot at the
Ford vs. Rapira winner.
In the
third UBO title fight, New Zealand Cruiserweight
prospect, by way of Australia, Benjamin Kelleher
(3-0, 2 KOs) will fight for the vacant UBO
Asia-Pacific title in only his fourth
professional bout. On a fast-track to the top,
Kelleher will square off with a
yet-to-be-determined opponent.
CEO and founder of Ringstar Management, Scott
Patrick
O’Farrell,
said: “This will be an absolutely amazing event
for boxing in Singapore, and we are very proud
to be able to deliver it.”
“I
want to thank my partners at RightHook
Communications, Phuket Top Team, Alex Gym, SFC,
Spartans Boxing Club, 11 Sports Network and
Astro Arena, as their support is so important
now, and leading up to the big show.”
UBO Vice
President David Maizner: “My hat goes off to Mr.
Farrell and all the other people who are working
so hard to put on a spectacular promotion such
as this. The Universal Boxing Organization is
extremely proud to be a part of it, and we are
happy to help develop professional boxing in
Singapore.”
O’Farrell
reveals that negotiations are ongoing with
opponents for Khan and Kelleher, and that more
info will be released in due time, along with
details on TV coverage, tickets and undercard
fights.
