Hungarian Bogdan (11-0, 7 KOs) is the more
experienced and accomplished of the two, having
won a few smaller titles already, while
Karelishvili (7-0, 6 KOs) is touted as one of
the brightest Heavyweight prospects to come out
of Georgia in many years.
The
local man, born in Romania, entered the paid
ranks in 2011 and made his name, at least
locally, when he convincingly beat former
British and Commonwealth Champion, and Mike
Tyson-conqueror, Danny Williams by unanimous
decision over ten rounds.
In
November of 2015 he defeated former French and
European champion Jean Marc Monrose, also by
unanimous decision, and since then he stayed
busy with a second round blow-out of journeyman
Igor Mihaljevic from Croatia.
Also a
pro since 2011, Karelishvili has had a
stop-start career. After his first fight, he
didn’t fight again until 2014, but in 2015 he
stayed quite active with four victories. His
last outing was this past August, where he
demolished fellow countryman Gela Tabidze in the
third stanza.
The
fight, preceded by a stacked undercard, will
headline a big show promoted by Tibor Feja and
his Fight Night Show Promotions, and will be
televised by Hungary DigiSport.
