UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Former multiple weight Universal Boxing Organization™ Champion Thomas Mashali from Tanzania has sadly passed away on Monday, October 31, at the young age of twenty-seven.

A professional boxer since 2009, Mashali was reportedly viciously attacked by thugs with machetes in the Kimara area of Dar Es Salaam, and tragically died from his injuries.

Mashali won his first championship in 2012, the East & Central Africa Middleweight title, and went on to capture the WBF All-Africa Super Middleweight title in 2013 and the UBO All-Africa Light Heavyweight crown in 2014.

That same year he added the UBO All-Africa Middleweight title to his collection.

Only this past May he realized a life-long dream when he won the vacant UBO World Super Middleweight title, beating previously undefeated Saijad Mehrabi from Iran.

In his last fight, on September 12, he stayed busy with a decision victory in a non-title fight, hoping to soon defend his world title.

The Universal Boxing Organization™ sends its condolences to the family and loved-ones of Thomas Mashali.

Rest in Peace Champ!
