UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

After seeing the city of Lubumbashi hosting many large sports events taking place in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in recent times, mining-town Kolwezi is eager to do the same with the support of governor of the Lualaba province, his Excellence Richard Muyej.

So, on Sunday November 27, Kolwezi, which is the capital of the Lualaba province, will host the Universal Boxing Organization™ All-Africa Heavyweight title-fight between local idol Rocky Kaleng (6-2, 4 KOs) and Mohamed Asma (15-6-2, 10 KOs) from Niger.

After defeating a tough Zambian opponent in Kolwezi this past June, Kaleng is full of confidence going into the fight, but Asma, a former UBO All-Africa and Inter-Continental title-challenger, is a boxer with vast experience from many championship fights.

The fight will be under the high patronage of the governor of Lualaba Richard Muyej, who is known to be a devoted supporter of sports. When he was minister of interior in D.R.C., he also helped former UBO World Champion Matamba Debatch Postolo in his journey to the USA for training.

With his support to the UBO All-Africa Heavyweight title fight on November 27, his Excellence Richard Muyej wants to encourage youth in D.R.C. to embrace sports, and unity, in the Central African country.

This the first major championship boxing match in Kolwezi will be promoted by Manda Mukadi, who is also president of the National League of Pro-Boxing in D.R.C. (Linaboxe).

Supervisor for the fight will be UBO East & Central Africa representative Mr. Claude Kaninda. The referee will come from Ivory Coast.
