21-year-old fast-tracking Russian Champion Arif Magomedov will be facing his careers biggest challenge on November 16 at the Ayvengo in Podolsk, Russia when he takes on tough Tanzanian Thomas Mashali for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ Inter-Continental Middleweight title.

Magomedov (7-0, 5 KOs) made his paid debut this past January, and impressively captured the vacant Russian national Middleweight title in only his seventh outing when he knocked out the experienced Marat Khuzeev (20-6-1, 8 KOs) in the very first round.

Now the fighter residing in Chekhov is ready for yet another step up the ladder, and he must expect a longer and more demanding fight against the 24-year-old Mashali (9-1-1, 5 KOs), who has three championship bouts under his belt compared to Magomedov´s one.

In October 2012 Mashali made his first mark on the scene when he won the East & Central African title with a unanimous decision over Ugandan Med Sebyala. He defended that crown with a knockout over Kenyan Bernard Mackoliech in January, but in May he was stopped in ten rounds of an evenly contested affair by former UBO Champion Francis Cheka.

Mashali rebounded well in July by stopping Patrick Amote in round six, and followed that victory up in August by winning the WBF All Africa Super Middleweight crown on a majority decision over fellow countryman Mada Maugo. Now back at Middleweight, he is travelling to Russia full of confidence that he can go back with the UBO belt.

The Arif Magomedov vs. Thomas Mashali UBO Inter-Continental Middleweight title fight on November 16 in Podolsk, Russia will be promoted by Dmitry Bogomolov and Pavel Popov of Podolsk Fighting League.
