Irish star Rachel Lally captured the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) world Super Middleweight title on Friday April 3, impressively beating Tanzanian co-challenger Grace Mapesa.

In front of a near sell-out crowd at The Pavilion Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, and streamed world-wide by IFL TV, Lally was on a mission to destroy and came out fast and strong from the first bell.

Having only lost to 2025 amateur world champion, and now undefeated pro, Elena Gapeshina, Mapesa was expected to be a tough adversary for Lally, but things didn't quite play out like that.

After being in complete command in round one, Lally went for the finish in round two, and when she got Mapesa into a corner she unleashed with everything in her arsenal, landing enough to force the referee to step in and save the out-gunned African.

Entering the fight as the UBO International titlist, fast-tracked southpaw Lally took her record to 4-0-1 (2). Mapesa falls to 5-2 (4).

In the second UBO title fight of the evening, a rematch of Dubai-based Ugandans, Fahad Mulindwa won the vacant M.E.N.A. Lightweight title defeating John Katongole.

Mulindwa had escaped with a very close decision in their first fight last December, also in Dubai, and appeared to have learned from that encounter.

On the front foot for most of the fight, Mulindwa scored a knock-down in round seven, catching Katongole with a left hook, but he was not able to finish his foe.

After eight rounds of boxing, judges Mike Hayel and Nawaf Almohaimeed scored the fight 77-73 and 79-71 for Mulindwa, while judge Gary Kitanoski had it even at 75-75.

Former Ugandan national champion Mulindwa improved his professional record to 13-4-2 (6). Katongole drops to 5-5 (2).

Both UBO title fights was part of Night of Champions, promoted by BATL Boxing Promotions.
