A big fight for professional boxing in Chile is set for February 26, when local hero Patricio “Pato” Carrion (21-1, 5 KOs) fights for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) world Super Lightweight title at the Arena Cavancha in Iquique.

In the main event of a show promoted by TC2 Boxing, his opponent will be Bolivian champion Dante Colque “La Cobra” Fernandez, who brings a record of 16-3 (11) to the party.

A pro since 2017, Carion won a WBC regional title in February of 2024, outpointing tough Argentinian Alan Boncompagni.

He last boxed in August of last year, when he won the UBO Continental (South America) title, stopping another Bolivian in Dilan Meneses Zurita.

He is now ready to take the next step in his career, but Fernandez plans to do what his countryman, Meneses Zurita, couldn't do and beat Carrion in front of his fans.

The visitor appears to have a clear advantage in power, while Carrion is the superior technician. It remains to be seen who manages to implement their strengths best on fight-night.
