Continental (Asia) Welterweight champion
Reymond “Robocop”
Yanong,
from Paranaque City, Philippines, has
experienced plenty of set-backs since he
turned pro in 2013.

He lost his
debut, but then went undefeated in his next
eight outings. After that it was down hill
again, as he was the loser of eight of his next
twelve bouts between 2016 and 2023. It looked
very much like a career as a journeyman for him.
During that
4-12 run he had boxed some very good opponents,
and challenged for the Philippines national
title and the WBC Asian Continental title, so it
was not as if he
was losing
because he was bad, and he never gave up on
resurrecting his career.
Now he has won
six of his last seven fights, and made a major
break-through in December of 2024 when he
knocked out Campee Phayom to win the Asian
Boxing Federation Lightweight title in Bangkok,
Thailand.

Ten months later
he accepted to move up two weight classes to fight
Aphisit Nulae, also in Bangkok, for the vacant UBO
title, and put on another impressive performance
by winning in five rounds.
At 32 years old,
his current record stands at a, some would say,
mediocre 17-10-1 (12), but it is a real record,
achieved by taking on all comers, any time and any
place. He has earned his achievements the hard
way!
