“El
Expreso”,
14-6
(9) at the
time,
was coming off
defeating undefeated prospect Ali Dakroup in
Germany, but the 6-0-1 Munhoz Da Penha was
expected to be too much for the Venezuelan
warrior.
It
was tit-for-tat for three rounds, but when the
Brazilian appeared to suffer a hand-injury in
round four, Marin Garcia took control. From that
point it was his fight, and he went on to score
the knockout, and secure his biggest win, in
round six.
It was a major
surprise for the fans at ringside, but Marin
Garcia, who has never turned down a challenge,
was living proof
that night
that anything
can happen in boxing.
