Two new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) champions were crowned in Mexico on Friday August 22 and Saturday August 23.

Saturday saw 21-year-old hot prospect Aaron “Maximus” Garcia, from Payson in Utah, win the vacant UBO Inter-Continental Bantamweight title defeating Mexican Carlos Adrian Mejia.

On a card promoted by Baja Boxing at the Arena Tecate in Tijuana, Garcia won by second round stoppage to secure his first title in the professional ranks.

Garcia, who is looking very promising after just sixteen months in the pro game, improved his record to 8-0 (7). Mejia, undefeated since 2019 going in, drops to 8-3-1 (5).

On Friday night in Nuevo Casas Grandes, American Antonio Brown blew out local fighter Jesus Moroyoqui to capture the vacant UBO International Cruiserweight title.

The hard-punching former American Boxing Federation titlist started fast and finished fast, and never gave his opponent a chance to get started as it was all over in round one.

Brown, from Phoenix, Arizona, took his record to 10-5 (10). Moroyoqui is now 7-5-1 (4). The fight was promoted by Promociones Paquime.
