Former world title-challenger Sarah “Savage” French returns to the ring on August 30 at the Cisero Stadium in Cicero, a suburb of her home-town Chicago, taking on Suzana Rodriguez Griffin for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Welterweight title.

French (5-2-2) came very close to winning the IBO world title at Super Welterweight against Hannah Rankin in Scotland in June of 2019, when she lost 6-4 in rounds on all three judges cards.

Now she starts her quest for a second world championship opportunity, and the vacant UBO world Welterweight title could be her next step if successful on August 30.

In Rodriguez Griffin (5-1, 2 KOs) she wont be in with an easy touch, and some would say that facing the Indianapolis native after a considerable spell of inactivity is a bold move.

Rodriguez Griffin hasn't yet boxed at the level that French has, but she has been active, is ambitious, and is coming off two wins this year.

She knows that if she can beat the home-favourite, she may be on her way towards a shot at UBO world honours herself.

French vs. Rodriguez Griffin for the UBO International Welterweight title will be promoted by Harv War Bangerz Boxing in association with Sam Colonna Boxing.
