Reis (35) bravely beat the count every time, but
when Walker (24) went all out for the finish in
round two, he was eventually trapped in a corner
and unable to respond.
Referee Mark Nelson, who six days earlier was the
third man in the ring when pound-for-pound star
Naoya Inoue defended his world titles in Tokyo,
consequently stepped in and waved the fight off.
It was exiting and impressive, as Walker improved
his professional record to 18-1 (17) and captured
his second UBO title. Last July he won the UBO
Continental (North America) title.
The very experienced Reis, who turned professional
in 2008, drops to 25-13 (19), but can be proud
that he did his best and came to win. He was just
up against a very talented and powerful opponent.
