Italy-based Albanian Aleksander Ramo takes home the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Light Heavyweight title, but it was an anticlimactic night for him on Thursday, July 25, in Ferrara.

He had prepared diligently to fight Venezuelan puncher Carlos Eduardo Jimenez in the main event of Accademia SSD and Boxing Duran Italia´s show, outdoors at the Campo Scuola Giampiero Lenzi, but unfortunately the bout never really got started.

After a slow first round where Jimenez was trying to be tricky, and Ramo took his time, the South American suddenly grabbed his left arm early in round two, winching in pain, and indicated to the referee that he had suffered an injury.

After an examination from the ringside doctor it was decided that Jimenez could not continue, making Ramo the winner by unsatisfactory technical knockout.

Having gone undefeated in fourteen previous fights, Ramo, now 15-0 (8), had hoped for a more decisive victory in what was his first professional title fight. The unlucky Jimenez drops to 11-4 (11).

A pro since 2018, the new UBO champion did nothing wrong, and can still be proud that he has won his first championship belt.
