Paolo Bologna is the new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Super Welterweight champion after winning the vacant title on Saturday night, April 27, in Lastra a Signa, Florence, Italy.

At the Palazzetto Dello Sport, Bologna put on an impressive performance against his toughest opponent to date in experienced veteran Mirko Di Carlantonio.

In round six Bologna scored a heavy knock-down, but Di Carlantonio beat the referees count. He went down again when Bologna went for the finish, but it was ruled a slip and Di Carlantonio made it through the round.

However, when the bell rang for round seven Di Carlantonio retired on his stool, making Bologna the winner by technical knockout.

The undefeated local boxer was sharper and faster than his game foe, and proved that he is one to look out for by stopping a man who has proven himself to be very durable.

A pro since 2020, Bologna improved his professional record to 10-0-1 (5). Stopped inside the distance only twice before, Di Carlantonio falls to 17-13-1 (3).

The fight was promoted by Noble Art Boxing Promotions in association with Boxe Lastra a Signa.
