The Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) world Featherweight title fight which was supposed to take place this Saturday April 20, in Gondomar, Portugal between local man Francisco Gomes and Jampier Oses from Venezuela is postponed.

The wife of Gomes went into early labour on Friday morning, making it impossible for the boxer to make weight and focus on what would have been the biggest fight of his career so far.

Everything was set, and promoter Cesar Moreira is in a difficult situation with Oses and his team on site, a venue all ready for a show, and spectators who have bought tickets.

But such is life sometimes, and no one can blame Gomes that he must be with his wife.

We congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Gomes on the new addition to their family. They will have quite a story to tell the little one in a few years.

A new date for the fight will be announced in due cause, but it is expected that it will now potentially happen in June.
