It was
supposed to be either a fairytale story for
Jugder, a tough journeyman who has remarkably
turned his career around, or a coming-out-party
for Miko, but none of them got what they had
hoped for.
Czech
Republic-based Mongolian Jugder proved that he
is much better than his record suggests when he
barely lost a decision to undefeated Yuri
Sakunts for a World Boxing Federation (WBF)
title last December.
He since
followed up with two stoppage victories, and was
full of confidence going into what was arguable
the biggest opportunity of his career to date
against local hero Miko.

But after
ten rounds of boxing judges Pavel Hynek and
Bohumil Ruckschlos could not separate them,
scoring the fight 95-95, while judge Ondrej
Holubek had Jugder a clear winner by 99-92.
Miko was
arguably doing best in the first half of the bout,
and Jugder finished strong by winning the last
three rounds according to two of the judges.
A rematch
could be on the cards, but in the meantime Miko,
fighting for his first title, is now 5-1-1 (4),
and Jugder goes to 11-24-4 (5), and is 2-1-2 in
his last five outings.
