Shamara Woods, from Allentown, Pennsylvania, is the new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Female Inter-Continental Super Lightweight champion.

Nicknamed “Pure Perfection”, the 27-year-old American won the vacant title on Thursday evening, February 22, in Santa Marta, Colombia, defeating Clarena Julio.

Woods was originally scheduled to face local girl Katerin Tobon, but when Tobon pulled out injured not long before the fight, Julio, also from Colombia, stepped in.

Julio (31) did well and fought her chance, but in the end Woods was just too much for her, forcing a sixth round stoppage.

The new UBO Inter-Continental champion improved her professional record to 7-0-1 (5), and is hoping to land a shot at world honours later this year. Julio falls to 5-3 (3).

The fight was one of the featured bouts of a show at the Coliseo de Piscaito David Ruiz Ureche, promoted by Joel Gallegos and his 4X4 Promotions.
