Undefeated world Super Lightweight champion Samantha “The Heat” Worthington (8-0, 6 KOs) is the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Boxer of the Month for January 2024!

 
 

Worthington won the UBO world title when she unanimously out-pointed former four-time world champion Yazmin “La Rusita” Rivas on January 20 at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville.

28-year-old Worthington, from Lexington, Kentucky, turned pro in November of 2019, but was then inactive until August of 2022.

Since then she has not looked back, impressively defeating all opponents put in front of her.

Her acid test came against Rivas (40-11-1, 11 KOs), who had been victorious in fourteen of twenty-two title fights, while it was the first championship bout for the American.


 
 

Already ranked third in the world by the BoxRec computer rankings, behind only living legend Katie Taylor and former world champion Chantelle Cameron, the future is nothing but bright for Worthington.

After only eight professional fights she is a star in the making!
