Still only nineteen, Isaiah Riquelmy (6-1, 4 KOs) is ready to take his career to the next level when he fights for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Super Lightweight title on December 16.

The Floridian will face undefeated Venezuelan Danny Mena (5-0, 5 KOs) in one of the featured bouts of a show promoted by T & K Boxing Promotions in Medellin, Colombia.

Riquelmy´s sole defeat came to another undefeated foe, as he was on the wrong end of a close majority decision when he fought 9-0 Benigno Aguilar last June.

He rebounded with a solid victory over durable trial-horse Rondale Hubbert in November, winning every round, and he is now stepping up to test himself again in his first title fight against Mena.

22-year-old Mena is dangerous, but he will be in with his best opponent to date in Riquelmy. He is looking to show that he is the future star of the two up-and-comers.

It is a rare clash of prospects, and, while the winner will further cement his status as a potential future star, the loser can also advance his standing with a good performance.

Also on the card will be a fight for the vacant UBO Female world Flyweight title between Simona Sarpa and Angie Murcia. A strong undercard will precede the two UBO title fights.
