In a
fight between Azerbaijani boxing icons, Jafarov
stopped fellow countryman Ali Ismayilov in the
first round to capture the vacant title on a
show promoted by Serdar Avci Promotion.
Jafarov,
who entered the fight as the reigning UBO
Eurasia champion, won his sixth straight fight
and improved his professional record to 24-6
(22).
Two-time
Olympian and former WBO world title-challenger
Ismayilov, who has fought a who's-who of the
biggest names in the Cruiserweight division,
drops to 20-11-1 (14).

Also on the
card, someone's O had to go as Gurkan Karadag and
Mugavil Musayev clashed for the vacant UBO
European Heavyweight title.
Unfortunately the intriguing battle of undefeated
prospects never got a chance to catch fire, as
Musayev was injured in the first round and was
pulled out by his corner before the second.
The winner
by technical knockout, 23-year-old Karadag, from
Istanbul, is now 4-0 (4), while Baku, Azerbaijan´s
Musayev(25) falls to 3-1 (2).
