UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

He knows it very well, and is probably reminded all the time, but its difficult not to mention that Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Featherweight champion Rey Villar bears a striking resemblance to his legendary Filipino countryman Manny Pacquiao.

With that said, Villar didn't have the same early promise as Pacquiao, and after less than three years in the pro ranks he looked retired in 2010 with a 6-6-1 record.

He made a brief comeback eight years later, in the spring of 2018, winning a fight in India, but then drifted into retirement again.

Villar decided to focus on working as a personal trainer, and eventually moved to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. At some point he found the desire to fight again, and in June of 2022 he returned to the ring, again, winning a small fight in his new home-town.

Already in his second fight back he was given a championship opportunity, and he didn't let that opportunity go to waste as he blew out Remmy Igga (12-5) in the first round for the Asian Boxing Federation Featherweight title.

Another stay-busy fight, and routine victory, followed in March of 2023, before he travelled to Dhaka in Bangladesh to completely destroy local man Hasan Sikdar for the vacant UBO Inter-Continental title on May 13.

Now 11-6-1 (5), on a five-fight winning-streak, and the reigning UBO Inter-Continental Featherweight champion, Rey Villar is hoping that he can complete his incredible revival with a world title.

He has shown that he has no problem going into his opponents back-yard, but obviously he would prefer that his next big opportunity comes in Dubai.
