Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Super Flyweight champion Angelina Lukas from Kazakhstan successfully defended her title on Friday night, August 25, in Istanbul, Turkey.

Lukas, who won the title last December, overcame the challenge of Stumai Muki Paulo, who was game as they come but not able to keep up with the work-rate and determination of the champion.

In the second round Lukas overwhelmed Muki Paulo with a barrage of punches and scored a knock-down, but the Tanzanian beat the referees count and fought back valiantly.

However, after ten entertaining rounds there was no doubt about the winner, as all three judges scored in favour of Lukas: 99-90, 99-90 and 100-89.

The 26-year-old UBO World champion improved her professional record to 5-0 (3). Muki Paulo (22) falls to 7-4 (0).

On the undercard of the show promoted by Serdar Avci Promotions, three local boxers captured UBO regional titles.

In an all-Turkish clash, Deniz Altuntoz Ermis won the vacant UBO Female All-Asia Welterweight title, defeating amateur stand-out Hande Denizcier.

Unfortunately the fight never caught fire, as Denizcier was forced to retire after the first round due to injury.

Altuntoz Ermiz is now 4-0 (3), and is hoping to continue her progress and become a player in one of boxing's most glamorous and tradition-rich weight-divisions.

At Light Heavyweight, undefeated Berkay Varol took his record to 5-0 (4) when he won the vacant UBO European Light Heavyweight title, stopping Azerbaijan´s Elnur Mammadov in round three.

Varol was determined and relentless from the first bell, and looked like a man on a mission as he won his first professional title.

Also at Light Heavyweight, Burak Gucukcavus, now 3-1 (2), won the vacant UBO All-Asia title, defeating Jabbar Ismayilov from Azerbaijan by first round technical knockout.

Only eighteen years old, Gucukcavus is a promising prospect and one to look out for in the future.
