It was a historic night in Brovary, Ukraine, as the first championship boxing match since the russian invasion took place on Saturday, August 12, at a packed Terminal Mall Concert Hall.

The event, promoted by Top Boxing Generation in association with Balu Promotion, saw local hero Nazri Rahimov win the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Super Lightweight title in impressive fashion.

22-year-old Rahimov faced Panamanian Erving Berry, who stepped in on short notice when undefeated African champion Latibu Muwonge was forced to withdraw due to visa problems.

From the start Rahimov used his superior height and reach to control the game Berry, and showed an excellent ability to adjust to the new foe.

Rahimov was spiteful with his punches, and put his combinations together excellently while Berry tried his best to get on the inside.

In round ten the Ukrainian hurt Berry who turned away in pain, forgetting to protect himself at all times, and Rahimov followed up with a nasty left hook to knock him down.

Berry bravely made it to his feet, but his corner had seen enough and threw in the towel to make Rahimov the new UBO world champion by technical knockout.

Rahimov improved his professional record to 12-3 (7), while Berry, who should be praised for stepping in and doing his best, drops to 24-10-2 (10).

The Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) congratulates everyone involved for making a big night like this happen despite the difficult circumstances.
