Ecuadorian Andres Munoz won the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Latino Welterweight title on Saturday night, July 29, at Centro Comercial Paseo San Francisco on Quito, Ecuador.

Munoz dominated and stopped experienced Colombian Jose Luis Prieto in three rounds, winning his first professional title in the process.

30-year-old Munoz, who is a decorated police officer outside the ring, improved his professional record to 7-1-1 (4), and will be looking to build on the momentum in the near future.

Former WBC regional titlist Prieto, dropping to 28-12 (18), lost his second straight UBO title-opportunity, and will likely need to drop down a level to return to winning ways.

The new UBO champion dedicated the victory to his mother, his biggest supporter, who was in the ring with him celebrating the triumph.

The fight was part of a big show promoted by ShowBox Promotions.
