UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Azerbaijan boxing hero Taryel Jafarov was not going to be denied on Saturday night, May 27, at the Shagan Olympic Sport Complex in Baku.

After two failed Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) championship attempts taken on short notice in 2021, Jafarov entered the ring determined to make the most of his third opportunity.

And he wasted little time, as he destroyed Muhammad Hafeez from Pakistan in the opening round to win the vacant UBO Eurasia Heavyweight title.

With twelve victories in his last thirteen outings, Jafarov entered the fight with momentum and looked determined to have a quick night as he fired off hard shots to both body and head from the first bell.

It was a body-punch which got the job done, as Jafarov put together a combination to the head and finished with a hard shot to the midsection of Hafeez, who went down and was unable to continue. Time of stoppage: 1:18.

Jafarov (36) took his professional record to 21-6 (19), and is now looking to move back down to Cruiserweight where he has had the majority of his fights, and go for another title. Hafeez falls to 5-3 (2).

The fight headlined a show promoted by TGA Promotions & Management in association with MCM Promotions.
