In a fight where both boxers showed they were willing to take big risks to become Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Featherweight champion, Filipino Rey Villar was a level above local man Hasan Sikdar on Saturday evening in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Sikdar accepted a tough and experienced opponent in former Asian champion Villar for what was his first championship fight, and Villar had the self-confidence to go into his opponents back-yard for the opportunity to win the vacant UBO title.

But the big challenge proved too early for Sikdar, as Villar came out determined to make a statement and overwhelmed him, scoring three knock-downs in the first round before the onslaught was waved off.

It was destructive and impressive, and 35-year-old southpaw Villar, fighting out of Dubai, looks like a man who is still in or close to his prime.

With his fifth straight victory, the new UBO Inter-Continental Featherweight champion improved his professional record to 11-6-1 (5).

Sikdar, only eighteen years old and with plenty of time to come again, drops to 5-3-2 (3).

The fight was part of a championship double-header at Jamuna Future Park promoted by AF Boxing Gym & Promotion, televised live by Jamuna TV.
